Community Development moves to Spaulding Ave. Metro District main offices, boosting customer service

Pueblo West Community Development Department moves to 63 Spaulding Ave.

Residents of Pueblo West can now benefit from a more streamlined experience when accessing Metro District services.

The Community Development department, responsible for applications, land use and covenant enforcement, has relocated to the Pueblo West Metro District administrative offices at 63 E. Spaulding Ave. This move allows residents to access a range of Metro District services all under one roof.

To further enhance customer service, a new front desk receptionist has been introduced. This receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, directing them to the appropriate services within the Metro District. They will answer basic questions about Metro District functions as well as provide specialized assistance for residents with Community Development and Administrative services.

The building will now house the Community Development team, the District Manager and the Human Resources, Finance, IT, Communications, Economic Development and Community Relations offices. This consolidation is aimed at making life easier for residents by offering multiple services in one convenient location, which had been a challenge since the District's previous administrative offices, located at 109 Industrial Blvd., was destroyed in 2019 by a bomb cyclone weather event. Since, Metro District departments have leased office space throughout Pueblo West, resulting in the inability to have a District receptionist. The addition of a front desk receptionist is a significant return to normal for the Metro District.

"The addition of a front desk receptionist to directly address resident concerns is a significant return to normal for the Metro District," Metro District Public Information Officer Anthony Sandstrom said. "Consolidating services in one location also significantly benefits our community. While a receptionist may seem basic, our past office space limitations prevented us from offering this essential service until now."

Metro District office locations now include:

  • Administrative & Community Development Offices: 63 E. Spaulding Ave
  • Water and Waste Water Department: 20 W. Palmer Lake Dr.
  • Parks and Recreation: 340 E. Hahns Peak Ave
  • Facilities: 356 S. McCulloch Blvd.

While there are no immediate plans for further relocations or additions, a committee regularly meets to discuss options for a permanent Metro District administrative building. However, there is currently nothing substantive to report at this time.
