How to Apply
Application
Submit an application through our “Job Opportunities” tab on our website for a position that is available. Applications and resumes will only be accepted for current and open positions. Paper applications are no longer accepted.
If you are applying for more than one position, separate applications are required.
Only complete applications can be used as a sole source of information to use to determine the qualifications of an applicant and whether they will move to the next stage of the hiring process.
Incomplete applications are at risk for being rejected immediately. (Applicants may or may not be hired solely on the information provided in an application.)
Selection
The Pueblo West Metropolitan District’s hiring manager is in charge of the initial evaluation of an application.
They determine whether an applicant meets the requirements of the job they are applying for.
Applications are then verified by the human resources department on their qualifications.
Interviewing
Applicants who rank highest on the eligible list will be contacted for an interview. Applicants who are not chosen for an interview, will receive an email stating that they were not selected. However, if an application was found to be incomplete, the applicant will not be contacted.
The interview will be conducted by a panel consisting on 3-4 individuals including an HR rep, supervisor from the department, director, and another management level employee.
Offer
Applicants who were not selected for the position will receive a letter informing them and letting them know about other employment opportunities within the District.
Applicants who have been selected for the position will receive an offer letter with contingencies explained.
Contingencies for all job offers include a drug test, driving record and standard background checks, and a physical based off of job requirements. All potential employees will complete and pass these contingencies prior to official employment status.
Employment
All employees are required to present proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States within three (3) business days of hire. Failure to prove eligibility will void the offer of employment.
