The new Pueblo West Events Series is here for you! The Pueblo West Metropolitan District is offering a gigantic schedule of FREE OR LOW-COST events both large and small, designed to give residents something to do throughout the year – and especially during the summer months!

The following events have been scheduled for 2023. The list below is separated chronologically by month. You can learn about past events so you can keep an eye out for them next year, or learn more about upcoming events.

- Gal-entines Day Social Art Event
Our first "social art" event took place in February, drawing 30 participants that were led through a painting lesson by a professional artist while also enjoying complimentary wine, donated by Big Bear Liquor.

- Kites and Coffee(May 20)
Held at Civic Center Park, the inaugural Kites and Coffee festival provided the first 25 kids in attendance with free kites, and included coffee available from Ground Pounder Coffee.

- Pueblo West Summer Concert Series: Knuckin' Futz (June 24)
- The first of four Summer Concert Series events, the all-day event featured food trucks, kids games, drinks, cornhole, and music by local rock band Knuckin' Futz.

July
- Pueblo West Vintage Fourth of July Celebration (July 4)
- This year's Pueblo West Fourth of July celebration included the Jack Fowler Memorial Fourth of July Wet Parade, the annual Fire Department pancake breakfast, the United Way of Pueblo County Liberty Point 5K, a Food Truck Market, and nighttime Vintage Fourth of July activities. These included a classic car show, a community field day, free burgers and hot dogs, dessert trucks, and a fireworks display after dark. Learn more about this year's Fourth of July celebration.

Food Truck Rally begins at 5 p.m., movie at darkJoin us at Civic Center Park for a FREE showing of Lightyear. Enjoy a family picnic and a movie, enjoy free popcorn, and start the night off by visiting one of several on-site food trucks!

- Pueblo West Summer Concert Series: Blues and Barbecue, featuring Rhythm Kings Trio
- Saturday, July 29 – Civic Center Park (map), 4 p.m. Music at 6:30 p.m.
- Admission: $5 | BBQ Tasting & Judging: $10 | Traeger Smoker/BBQ Raffle: $10 or 3 for $20
- The second of four Summer Concert Series events, Blues and Barbecue will feature local barbeque trucks competing for the crown of Pueblo West's Best Barbecue! BBQ trucks will be on hand to serve up dinner, or for just $10, you can get 3 oz. samples from each competitor and vote your favorite, the winning BBQ earning the title of "Pueblo West People's Choice." You may also purchase raffle tickets for a Traeger 780 Pellet Smoker and Grill, courtesy of Pueblo West Ace Hardware, for $10 each or 3 for $20. The drawing will take place at the conclusion of the Summer Concert Series on Sept. 30.
- Pueblo blues band Rhythm Kings Trio will take the stage at 6:30 p.m.
- Proceeds from Summer Concert series events help pay for Pueblo West Parks and Recreation Holiday Drives and future Pueblo West events.
- Bring the kids to enjoy extended hours at the Civic Center Splash Pad during this event! The Splash Pad Extended Hours will run from 4 to 6 p.m.
- Note: Admission is required to enjoy the extended Splash Pad hours. There will be no cost to enjoy the Splash Pad during its regular hours of 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., prior to the start of this event.

- The third of four Summer Concert Series events will feature longtime local band Martini Shot, taking the stage at 6:30 p.m.

- Tom Sawyer Fishing Derby
Saturday, Oct. 7 – morning at Cattails Crossing (map)
Registration: Sept. 11 to Oct. 4- The annual Tom Sawyer Fishing Derby has become a Pueblo West tradition! Pueblo West Parks and Recreation, along with the Jubic family, the Rotary Club of Pueblo West, and Colorado Parks and Wildlife, are sponsors for the Tom Sawyer Fishing Derby that includes giveaways, prizes, fishing poles for kids, and more!
- Halloween Bash
Tuesday, October 31 – 4 p.m.- The annual Halloween Bash will be back again for 2023! Our annual 'trunk or treat' event provides kids with a huge bag of goodies, including candy and toys.

November
- Community Food Basket Drive
Nov. 1 to Nov. 11- One of several holiday drives sponsored by the Pueblo West Metro District, the Community Food Basket Drive collects and disperses food boxes as well as Christmas gifts to needy families in Pueblo West. We work with area schools to identify local families that need it most.
- Holiday Giving Tree
From November to the deadline of Dec. 7- The Pueblo West Metro District Holiday Giving Tree is an annual Christmas gift collection drive designed to fulfill the wishes of an in-need child in Pueblo West.
Cattail Christmas
Sunday, November 26 from 2:00-5:00pm
Hosted by PWHS Interact Club and Pueblo West Rotary Club. A fun afternoon at Cattail pond for families and friends to play games, enjoy food and hear the PWHS band perform. Bring a new toy to donate to a family in need.

- Holiday in Lights Parade
Saturday, Dec. 2 – evening- Our annual Holiday in Lights Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2. The parade route runs down Joe Martinez Blvd. to Civic Center Park, ending with visits from Santa, cookies and cocoa, and a community Christmas tree lighting.
